A Bit About Us...
Berks County, PA natives Peggy and Eric Gernerd are the musical duo, MAGGIE SPIKE. MAGGIE SPIKE are singer/songwriters whose music takes you to a place where melody, rhythm, harmony and poignant lyrics converge to create a sound that is easily accessible and highly entertaining.
Drawing from a mixed bag of musical styles such as folk, rock, jazz, Celtic, reggae and world music, MAGGIE SPIKE performs their self-penned songs with passionate appeal and soulful insight.
MAGGIE SPIKE’s latest cd, “Sol Paradise” is now available! ”Sol Paradise” is a world/jazz/folk influenced cd and draws from the musical talents of 20 musicians from Berks and Lancaster Counties, and the Lehigh Valley. The new cd also features cover art from Bonnie Wren, local singer/songwriter/artist. We will soon be updating this website with new photos, video & information about our new cd as well.
We want to thank all the musicians and friends who joined us for our cd release party, “Sol Paradise Summer Solstice CD Release Party” on Sun. 6/21 at The Bridge Inn. We had a blast! Please check our gig section for new bookings (our cds will be available at all shows).
MAGGIE SPIKE’S approach to songwriting can be compared to Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Duncan Sheik, Roseanne Cash, Bill Miller, Sarah McLaughlin and Michael Hedges. We also are influenced by Bill Miller and Patty Larkin.
